Elina Ellis

Elina was born in Ukraine and never in a million years thought that she would end up in Cambridge, UK, illustrating books for children. In fact, Elina had a degree in economics and was determined to be a business lady. But life decided differently, and Elina’s passion for drawing won out over her passion for economics.#Recently, Elina graduated with an MA in children’s book illustration from Anglia Ruskin University. She has also won a couple of prestigious competitions, including the Macmillan Prize 2017 for the best picture book.#Now Elina dedicates all her time and efforts to imagining stories and drawing pictures. She works both digitally and using traditional media. She creates her own books and illustrates books for others. Carl Wiens

Illustrator Carl Wiens has enjoyed a successful career spanning more than thirty years. Carl finds his inspiration in science and nature, and is fascinated by robots, insects and exoplanets.#Carl grew up near Point Pelee National Park where he sketched birds and collected butterflies. Being outside and surrounded by nature has been a source of energy and creativity for Carl. He also has a passion for music and listens while painting and drawing.#Carl’s work has been internationally recognized by the Society of Illustrators, American Illustration, 3 x 3 and the Applied Arts Annual. He has been published in the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, Time, Forbes, Barron’s and Esquire. His book projects include Sci-Fi Baby Names, The Art of Roughhousing, Wild Buildings and Bridges and Finna.#In addition to his art, Carl teaches science- and technology-based illustration at Sheridan College where he is continually inspired by the dedication and creativity of the next generation of illustrators.#Carl lives in Belleville with his dog, Kona, two sons and lovely wife, Kim. Guillaume Perreault

Guillaume Perreault was born in Rimouski, Quebec, in 1985. After studying graphic design in Ottawa, he worked for a time as a designer before returning to his roots in illustrations. He now works primarily in children’s books but also illustrates for a variety commercial and cultural clients. Also known as an author, he won the 2016 Pépite catégorie petits lecteurs at the Book fair in Montreuil and was nominated in the youth category for the Prix des libraires du Québec for his book Le facteur de l’espace.#Guillaume’s work is often described as being precise and meticulous while showing life and great depth of character. He introduces us to lively worlds full of humor that will delight the young and the not-so-young.

Lisk Feng

Lisk Feng is an award-winning illustrator who is originally from China and is now based in New York. She graduated with an MFA in Illustration Practice from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2014. Since then, her illustrations have appeared in publications such as the New Yorker and the New York Times and Penguin, and in advertising campaigns by Apple, Airbnb and Chanel. Her illustrations have received awards and recognition including a Silver Medal from the Society of Illustrators, the Communication Arts Award of Excellence, the 3×3 silver medal and the American Illustration Award. She has also published children’s books with Flying Eye Books, Abrams and Kids Can Press. In 2017, she was named one of the Art Directors Club Young Guns 15 winners, selected from among artists working in all fields worldwide.~Instagram: @liskfeng

Vigg

The son of a Canadian diplomat, Vigg was born in Ottawa in 1972. He grew up in Pakistan, France, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Haiti and Switzerland.#Moving around the globe a lot as a child, Vigg always found great comfort in drawing and painting, which he often practiced alongside his mother. He went on to study political science, literature and anthropology at university. He even worked in a bank for a while, only to realize one day, around 25 years old, that he really wanted to pursue a career in image-making and communications. That’s when he discovered his true calling: illustration.#A self-taught artist, Vigg particularly likes to take complex concepts or ideas and turn them into simple, colorful images. That’s precisely the method he applies to his daily creations, whether they be in magazines, newspapers, posters, books or whatever visual challenge comes his way. His editorial illustration work has been rewarded with several prestigious awards, such as the Applied Arts Award, the American Illustration award and the 3×3 merit award.#He now lives near Montreal, Quebec, with his girlfriend – illustrator Marianne Chevalier – with whom he has created over a dozen children’s picture books.
