Suharu Ogawa is a Toronto-based illustrator originally from Japan. Formally trained in art history and cultural anthropology, she worked for several years as a university librarian until her passion for illustration called her out of that career and into the pursuit of a lifelong dream. Since then, Suharu has done various work for magazines, children’s books, public art projects and more. She teaches illustration at OCAD University in Toronto, Ontario.
Anna Kwan
Anna Kwan is an illustrator from Toronto, Ontario. She studied illustration at OCAD University where she drew comics and funny pictures, but didn’t imagine it would lead her to illustrate children’s books. Her work features vibrant colors and movement in figures, and her favorite subjects to draw are the people that surround her. If an adorable cat is around, she will most likely try and pet it.

Ian Turner is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Toronto, Ontario. Over the years, he has created commercial and editorial work for print, television, film and children’s books.

Phil Nicholls is an artist based in Toronto, Ontario. Passionate about animals and wildlife, they strive to make non-fiction books fun and engaging for young readers by creating illustrations filled with humor and personality.
Aparna Varma
Aparna Varma is a freelance illustrator, animator and owner of the stationary company Green Bean Studio. She is the illustrator of Pig’s Big Feelings, written by Kelly Bourne. Aparna divides her time between illustrating and working as an animator at Nelvana Studio. Born and raised in India, Aparna also spent many formative years in Botswana, and now she lives in Toronto, Ontario.
